Splinter reveals their new brand and focus on animation
In recent years Splinter have been doing increasingly more and more animation and illustration, in particular, short form with an educational slant. So the new brand and direction is a beautifully natural evolution of that.
Part of the rebrand includes a new website, which now showcases some of Splinter’s most recent work and studio projects, including a series of animations on the Ancient Maya for BBC Bitesize, a bespoke interactive story for World Book Day for CBeebies featuring the vocal talents of Brian Blessed, and 36 new animations for BBC Wales helping to teach Welsh
as a second language.
With exciting new animation and interactive projects underway, Splinter are looking to fly the flag for animation in Liverpool – whilst entertaining audiences at the same time.
“I’ve always felt it important to keep evolving and growing whilst running a creative business”, Managing Director of Splinter, Chris Beer tells us. “Our background in games and interactive storytelling meant that our team had a brilliant foundation to start telling those stories in a new way – catering for a changing media landscape where audiences are happier digesting snappy short form animation. It’s great fun constantly creating new characters and new worlds for those characters to live in too!”
